PEMCO Insurance

In 1936, Robert J. Handy founded the Seattle Teachers Credit Union and as the business grew he created seven additional companies, the largest being PEMCO Insurance.

Originally known as Public Employees Mutual Insurance Company in 1949, PEMCO Insurance is based in Seattle, Washington and has grown its annual premiums from $8,500 to well over $320 million.

PEMCO Insurance is a local company, servicing customers who live in the state of Washington and they offer four types of insurance.
